Art of Bronze was honored to create this moving bronze statue tribute of the Fallen Soldier Battlefield Cross and “Unsung Heroes” for the Mississippi Valley Veterans Memorial in Burlington, IA. The Mississippi Valley Veterans Memorial was built as a tribute to those who have served our country. The memorial features a large granite memorial wall that lists the names of service men and women from the entire region. The wall was designed to be a place to meet and to remember.
The Fallen Soldier Battle Cross, Battlefield Cross or Battle Cross was added to the memorial after the original completion of the wall. This bronze statue work of art greets visitors on the left side as they approach the granite memorial. It honors all those from the Mississippi Valley that sacrificed their lives for our freedom.
Art of Bronze spent tremendous time in the detailing of the Kevlar helmet w/ cat eyes. The lacings are left over right. The boots are placed at 45 degree angles. The rife is a M16A4 with Picatinny rail for mounting optics and other ancillary devices. We used actual items in the molding process so that everything is life-size. A special bronze plaque can be affixed to the bronze base.
The “Unsung Heroes” bronze statue is comprised of two life-size dogs- one sitting Labrador Retriever and one standing German Shepherd. These bronze heroes greet visitors on the right side as they approach the granite memorial. They honor the sacrifices of all U.S. military working dogs for our armed forces.
Art of Bronze spent tremendous time ensuring all the details and realism were captured in these invaluable members of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and Marine Corps. The sitting Labrador, retired from active duty, proudly wears his United States Military Working Dog Service Award medal. The standing German Shepherd is on active duty wearing his Kevlar vest with special US flag patch. He stands point on high alert.
