Art of Bronze is proud to offer this over 5 ft. long Cheyenne bronze sculpture after Frederic Remington. The Cheyenne was Remington’s sixth sculpture. The sculpture features a Cheyenne warrior atop his prized horse at full gallop speed. The warrior is wearing only a loincloth and moccasins; he leans forward clutching his spear and quirt. The horse has ears back, tail flowing and all four hooves off the ground. The horse and rider are being suspended by a buffalo robe saddle that trails off the airborne horse to the prairie designed oval base. The flowing robe allowed the entire sculpture to be cast in one piece.
Frederic Sackrider Remington (1861- 1909) was an American painter, illustrator, sculptor and writer who specialize in depicting the American Old West. Remington produced 22 bronze sculptures cast in editions during his lifetime.
